reign of London": tens of thousands of supporters of the independence of
Scotland took to the streets of Edinburgh
Several tens of
thousands of Scots took part in the All Under One Banner march (“All
under one banner”), which was held on the streets of Edinburgh. The demonstrators are in favor of holding a second referendum on the country's withdrawal from the UK. According to the results of the previous voting, which took place in 2014, 44.7% of citizens voted for independence.
Thousands march for Scotland’s independence march in Edinburgh
More
than one hundred thousand people took to the streets of the city with
the requirement to hold a second referendum on secession from the UK
On Saturday, October 6, in Edinburgh, there was a march for the independence of Scotland from Great Britain. In
this action, which has already been called the largest and boldest in
the history of the region, more than one hundred thousand people took
part. All of them demanded a re-referendum on secession from the United Kingdom.
Demonstrators to the sound of bagpipes walked through the city center to the parliament building. Many
activists in their hands were posters "Down with the government of
London" and the national flags of the Scottish people, reports Reuters.
It
should be noted that on Sunday, October 7, a conference of the Scottish
National Party, the largest autonomy in the autonomy, will be held in
Glasgow, where, in particular, the issue of independence will be
discussed.
Meanwhile, in May of this year it became known about the intention of Scotland to organize a second referendum. As it turned out, local authorities want to take a vote when the conditions for leaving Britain from the EU become clear.
By
the way, it was after the decision of London about Brexit among the
Scots that there were significantly more supporters of secession from
the United Kingdom.
