The
head of the operations of the Marine Corps of the Netherlands, General
Jeff McMutry, said that Russian ships and airplanes were attempting to
provoke NATO military forces during exercises in the Arctic. It is reported by The Telegraph.
According
to him, during anti-missile defense exercises, Russian ships appear in
sight more often and approach NATO troops at a closer distance than
earlier in recent decades.
“We
also notice that Russian fighters are flying closer to our ships to
declare their presence, one might even say, in a provocative manner,”
McMutry added.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands Anck Beyuveld announced cyberwar with Russia.
