The United States accused seven alleged GRU personnel for loud cyber attacks.

Russians accused of "computer hacking, money transfer fraud, theft of personal data under aggravating circumstances and money laundering"

All accused Russians are officers of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia (former GRU). They are Dmitry Badin, Ivan Yermakov, Artem Malyshev, Alexey Minin, Alexey Morenets, Yevgeny Serebryakov and Oleg Sotnikov. US intelligence agencies give the names of the accused completely, with patronymic names, and their age. The number of the military unit is also specified.

The essence of the claims

From the point of view of US law enforcement, from about December 2014 and at least until May, the current defendants participated in "persistent and sophisticated [unauthorized] computer intrusions affecting US citizens, corporate institutions, international organizations and their personnel in different parts of the world" . These operations, which were directed against the American company Westinghouse, supposedly met the "strategic interests of the Russian government."
