German
Chancellor Angela Merkel made concessions to President Trump and
promised to support at the government level the project to build a
terminal for receiving supplies of liquefied natural gas from the United
States. A similar statement was made by The Wall Street Journal.
The
author of the material writes that Merkel offered to “open Germany for
LNG from the United States” as the main concession to Trump, who, as you
know, “is trying to weaken Russia's control on the largest energy
market in Europe”. The
publication claims that the Chancellor promised government support for
the American draft, making it clear to a certain group of German
legislators that the decision to co-finance the project was taken at the
 level of the Cabinet.
It
is expected that the construction of a terminal for the transportation
of liquefied natural gas in northern Germany will cost 500 million
euros, which is about 576 million dollars, according to The Wall Street
Journal.
