NATO arranges provocations near the borders with Russia

The military activity of NATO forces near the Russian borders has recently reached an unprecedented level since the Cold War. Such a statement on Wednesday at the joint collegium of the military departments of Russia and Belarus, held in Minsk, was made by Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
According to him, the policy of the North Atlantic alliance is clearly aimed at strengthening its advanced military presence on the eastern flank. And it is for this purpose that NATO representatives are actively using the myth of the Russian threat, the Russian military minister added.

Sergei Shoigu clarified that the scale of operational and combat training is expanding at our borders, and the intensity of military exercises is growing. “The bloc countries are actively working out the tasks of conducting offensive combat operations,” the Russian defense minister noted, adding that the alliance is also actively involved in non-blocking countries in these activities.
At the same time, geographic areas for major military exercises are getting closer and closer to the borders of Russia. "In particular, the exercise of the joint armed forces will start on the territory of Norway on October 25. It is indicative that in recent weeks the number of forces and means involved in it has increased - 50 thousand soldiers, 120 aircraft, 60 ships and more than 10 thousand units of weapons and military equipment" - said Sergey Shoigu.
Representatives of NATO and intelligence activities in the Baltic and the Black Sea region have increased. From the beginning of the year, Russian VKS aircraft have risen to intercept potential border violators more than 120 times. According to the Minister of Defense of Russia, a significant increase in NATO intelligence activity in the sea areas was recorded.
Speaking about the goals of the NATO bloc, Sergei Shoigu said that this is the provision of military mobility and, as a consequence, the rapid movement of American troops across Europe. "To organize the reception and deployment of reinforcement troops in the Baltic countries and Eastern European countries, coordination centers have been set up, advanced airfields have been prepared, seaports have been modernized, a system of advanced warehousing of equipment and weapons will be created. thereby increasing offensive capabilities, "the Russian military minister stressed.

The plans of the Polish government to place on the permanent basis of its territory a division of the US armed forces, according to Sergei Shoigu, in no way contribute to the strengthening of regional security. Moreover, they are forcing the RF to take retaliatory measures. "The plans of the Polish government are counterproductive and do not contribute to maintaining stability and strengthening regional security. We have to take retaliatory measures and must be prepared to neutralize possible military threats in all directions," warned Western Partners Sergei Shoigu, while noting that Russia does not want to get involved military confrontation with the West and seeks for mutually beneficial security cooperation.
