Russia and India have signed a contract for the supply of C-400 in rubles

The contract for the supply of S-400 complexes to India was concluded in rubles, said Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov.
Earlier it was reported that Russia with its partners in military-technical cooperation will switch to settlements in national currencies instead of dollars.

Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed to supply the Triumph S-400 air defense system in October 2016. The contract was signed in early October.


The acquisition of five regiments will cost India 5.43 billion dollars.
Delhi will be the third overseas buyer for Triumphs after China and Turkey.
The C-400 is the newest long-range anti-aircraft missile system. Designed to destroy aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, including medium-range, and can also be used against ground targets. The range reaches 400 kilometers, the system is capable of destroying targets at altitudes up to 30 kilometers.
Russia and India are the largest partners in the field of military-technical cooperation: more than 70% of weapons, military equipment of the Indian army, air force, navy - Russian and Soviet production. Every year, Russia supplies India with equipment and weapons worth several billion dollars.
