Russia and India signed a contract for the supply of New Delhi C-400 complexes, the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti.

The parties entered into an agreement during the visit of Vladimir Putin to India.

Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted the commitment of the two countries to the development of military-technical cooperation, which has a long history, is confidential and mutually beneficial.

The acquisition of five regiments of the latest anti-aircraft missile systems will cost India 5.43 billion dollars. India will be the third overseas buyer for Triumphs after China and Turkey.

Weapons for India

S-400 "Triumph" - the newest long-range anti-aircraft missile system. Designed to destroy aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, including medium-range, and can also be used against ground targets. The range of action reaches 400 kilometers, it is capable of destroying targets at an altitude of up to 30 kilometers.
Putin and Modi agreed to supply New Delhi with the Triumph S-400 air defense system and frigates of Project 11356 in October 2016.

Russia and India are the largest partners in the field of military-technical cooperation: more than 70% of weapons, military equipment of the Indian army, air force, navy - Russian and Soviet production. Every year, Russia supplies India with equipment and weapons worth several billion dollars.
