French
authorities launched an investigation into the disappearance of Interpol
President Meng Hongwei, who left for China in late September, Europe 1
radio station reported, citing sources.
“An investigation into
the alarming disappearance of President Interpol Meng Hongwei has begun.
He has not made himself known since he left France for China at the end
of September,” the radio station said.
According to the radio station, Meng Hongwei left France on September 29. From that moment on, communication with him was lost. The
disappearance of the President of Interpol by the French police was
reported by his wife, who lives with her children in Lyon.
Interpol headquarters is located in Lyon, France.
