US withdraws from the INF Treaty

President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of the United States from the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles (INF). “Russia does not comply with the agreement. Therefore, we are going to terminate it, ”Donald Trump told reporters in Elko, Nevada (quoted by AFP).
“Russia has violated the agreement. They broke it for many years. I do not know why President Obama did not negotiate or did not withdraw from the agreement. We will not allow them to violate the nuclear agreement and create weapons, while we ourselves cannot do this, ”Mr. Trump said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry responded with a statement from an anonymous source circulated through news agencies: “This decision fits into the US course to get out of those international legal agreements that impose equal obligations on partners and make the concept of“ exclusiveness ”vulnerable. The main motive is the dream of a unipolar world. Come true? Not".
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow had “repeatedly publicly exposed” Washington’s desire to terminate the INF Treaty. “Washington has taken this step for many years, deliberately and step by step destroying the contractual base,” the Russian diplomatic department noted.

Recall the INF Treaty entered into force on June 1, 1988. According to him, the United States and Russia pledged over three years to destroy all ground-based ballistic and cruise missiles of an average (1,000–5,500 km) and shorter (500–1,000 km) range, and not to have such missiles in the future. The United States and Russia accuse each other of breach of contract.
