London urged Kiev to punish those responsible for the murder of the adviser to the mayor of Kherson

British Ambassador to Ukraine Judith Gough said that the people responsible for the attack on the adviser to the mayor of Kherson, Ekaterina Gandzyuk, should be brought to justice.

Gandzyuk, who was doused with concentrated sulfuric acid on July 31 in Kherson, died in hospital on Sunday. The police confirmed the fact of her death, now the law enforcement officers are conducting investigative actions in a hospital in Kiev.

“It’s sad to hear that Ekaterina Gandzyuk died. She struggled with her terrible injuries with courage and dignity. It’s important that those responsible for this terrible attack be brought to justice,” Gough wrote in her Twitter microblog on Monday.

In the summer, Ukrainian police reported that an unknown person poured Gandzyuk with concentrated sulfuric acid. The injured with burns was hospitalized and all this time was in serious condition in the hospital. Law enforcement officers investigated the case of attempted murder, but after her death on Sunday, they retrained for contract murder. The head of the National Police of Ukraine, Sergey Knyazev, said that law enforcement officers detained six suspects in the case. The court arrested four.
