Proved mortal danger of smartphones

Specialists from the National Toxicology Program (NTP) in the United States showed that male rats that were exposed to radio frequency radiation used in smartphones supporting 2G and 3G networks developed cancer in the heart, brain and adrenal glands. This is reported in a press release on MedicalXpress.
In the course of research, rats and mice were placed in special chambers in which animals were irradiated with radio waves for two years or most of their lives. Exposure lasted about nine hours a day, with 10-minute exposure periods divided by 10-minute intervals. The radiation dose rate ranged from 1.5-6 watts per kilogram of rats to 2.5-10 watts per kilogram of mice. The study did not include an assessment of the effects of radiation used for Wi-Fi and 5G networks.

The lowest exposure level in the experiment is equal to the maximum local exposure level allowed when using mobile phones. It is rarely used under normal conditions. In this case, according to scientists, the exposure during the study can not be directly compared with the doses that people actually get with smartphones. In animals, radiation affected the entire body, and in humans, specific tissues. However, all the experts, who analyzed the results of the experiment, came to the conclusion that the tumors arose because of radio frequency radiation.
