US Lieutenant
General Ben Hodges, the former commander of US Land Forces in Europe,
said he considers the probability of a war with China very high 15 years
later.
“The United States needs a very strong European pillar. I
believe that in 15 years - this is not inevitable, but there is a very
high probability - we will be at war with China, ”the Associated Press
quotes the general.
According
to him, Washington "has no opportunity to do everything that is needed,
in Europe and in the Pacific region, to cope with the Chinese threat."
Hodges also noted the US commitment to the North Atlantic Alliance, despite the shift in geopolitical priorities.
Previously,
a survey showed that almost half of the US military believe that the
United States will soon be drawn into serious military operations.
