London refuses to issue visas to Russian diplomats

Britain refuses to issue visas to Russian diplomats, said Ambassador in London Alexander Yakovenko.
“We cannot fill these vacancies, as the UK refuses to issue visas to diplomats for coming to the United Kingdom,” the ambassador said at a press conference, answering a question from RIA Novosti about who will take the place of diplomats expelled by London in March.
To fill empty seats, it is necessary to restore normal contact, he said.
“For the time being, we see from the British government an unconstructive position, which has hampered the functioning of our embassy, which is almost empty now. policy by the British government.
The ambassador urged London to change its policy and restore normal relations with Moscow in the diplomatic sphere.
“I think that both Russia and the United Kingdom are interested in normal diplomatic contacts, now there’s no need to talk about such contacts,” he concluded.
Expelling diplomats
The UK expelled 23 Russian diplomats after the incident in Salisbury, where on March 4 the former GRU officer Sergey Skripal and his daughter Julia were poisoned. Britain was supported by 16 EU countries, as well as the USA, Canada, Norway, Australia, Moldova, Ukraine and some other states. In total, the diplomatic missions left more than 150 employees of the Foreign Ministry. Moscow responded to this mirror and expelled diplomatic representatives from 27 countries.
Poisoning Skripale provoked a major international scandal: in London, they immediately rushed to blame Russia for everything.
Moscow has repeatedly offered to conduct a joint investigation, but Britain ignored this initiative. The Foreign Ministry also caught Prime Minister Teresa May in a lie: she claimed that the poison had been made in Russia, but in Porton-Down laboratory it was refuted.
Later, London presented photographs of the two “suspects”, claiming that these were GRU officers, Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov, but they themselves told the editor-in-chief of Sputnik and RT Margarita Simonyan that they visited Britain as tourists and are not associated with special services.
